position summary:

Within ATR Engineering Directorate/Avionics Department, the jobholder is responsible for the development and follow-up of Avionics Systems, in particular PBN / FMS / GPS topics.
The perimeter of Avionics Department is:
  • ATA 22 – Autopilot,
  • ATA 23 – Communications,
  • ATA 31 – Indicating/recording,
  • ATA 34 – Navigation,
  • ATA 42 – Modular Avionics
  • ATA 45 – Maintenance
  • ATA 46 – EFB

main responsabilities:

The jobholder is responsible for the development and follow-up of Avionics Systems for its perimeter of activities, in particular PBN / FMS / GPS topics :
  • Development of A/C systems modifications for production and legacy aircraft in accordance with ATR product policy
    •     Preliminary studies, RFI, RFP
    •     Selection and interface with supplier and partners including specification and Statement of Work activities, design reviews and documentation approval (FEE/EDES, DDP, QTP…)
    •     A/C modifications instruction
    •     Analysis of regulations, definition of certification strategy and issuance of Certification Program and associated Means of Compliance, discussions with Certification Authorities,
    •     Issuance of technical data to support Operational and Maintenance documentation update
  • Technology and regulation watch
  • Participation in research programs
  • Airworthiness follow-up : Investigation of in-service significant events, participation to Airworthiness Review Meetings with Authorities
  • Support to ICAO Annex 13 investigations
  • Technical support to production line and to deliveries via processing of derogations and troubleshooting of aircraft
  • Technical support to customers and other ATR departments in their missions (Procurement, Customer support, Marketing and Sales, Quality…)

key skills / key personal attributes / experience required:

  • Engineering degree from Aeronautical school
  • Good experience (>5 years) in the perimeter
  • Knowledge of A/C systems and associated disciplines (handling qualities, performance, structure…)
  • Good knowledge of A/C regulations (JAR/CS/FAR 25, Part 21…), development processes and standards (ARPs), qualification standards (DO, EUROCAE)
  • General knowledges of production, support, procurement… activities within an aircraft manufacturer
  • Languages : Good level in English & French
  • Good knowledge in Safety process, knowledge in Human factors
  • Experience in project management
  • Good relationship skills, ability to communicate with various stakeholders (external: Authorities, Partners, Suppliers, Customers… ; internal: Production, Quality, Procurement, Customer Support…) and in a multi-cultural environment.
