Aircraft Interiors 2019: ATR leads in passenger inclusion
ATR caused quite a stir during the Aircraft Interiors Expo thanks to certain concrete solutions presented to enhance the onboard experience of hard of hearing and visually-impaired passengers. Visitors from all over the world discovered the prototype of Audioback®, which is a world-first in aviation. This hearing aid loop system uses a magnetic field signal to enable the travelers equipped with an appropriate device to hear the crew announcements and even use our In-Flight Entertainment system Cabinstream™.
Speaking at a roundtable on air transport’s accessibility at the Passenger Experience Conference on Monday 1 April, our Vice-President Marketing, Zuzana Hrnkova, underlined ATR’s will to be an example in terms of accessibility and inclusion for all passengers. We now offer safety instruction cards in braille to our customers, to enable visually-impaired passengers to travel more serenely. Nadia Pellefigue, Vice-President of the Occitanie region in charge of economic development, higher education, research and innovation, visited our stand and congratulated ATR for our commitment towards a more responsible aviation.
Additionally, we now offer new coating for our Neo-Classic and Neo-Prestige seats, made of recycled leather. Created through a more ecological process, they also enable weight savings of up to 40kg on the entire cabin.
Aircraft Interiors Expo, the 2019 edition of which was held from 2 to 4 April in Hamburg, is the main exposition for cabin interiors design and furbishing. It is attended by airlines, manufacturers and suppliers from across the globe willing to constantly improve the aircraft comfort and the wellness of their passengers.
