ATR Strengthens U.S. Presence with Strategic Engagement in Washington D.C.

ATR took a decisive step forward in the United States, with a week of high-level engagements in Washington D.C. that highlighted its commitment to regional aviation and readiness to support the country’s evolving connectivity needs.

The company’s presence spanned three major events, with key airlines, prospects, lessors, regulators, industry leaders, institutional partners, and media representatives in attendance: a reception at the Italian Embassy, our very first Regional Air Connectivity Summit (RACS), and an impactful presence at the Regional Airline Association (RAA) Leaders Conference.

These moments reflected a clear strategic direction for ATR in this priority market. The U.S. regional network is facing a pivotal shift:

  • 300 hundred ageing jets will retire in the next decade
  • Potential for 12 million more passengers
  • 800 routes discontinued over the past 25 years
  • 1 in 10 regional airports at risk of losing all air service

ATR has worked closely with leading US partners, including Georgia Tech and Seabury Airline Strategy Group, to analyse the market in depth and define a tailored solution. The result: a modern, efficient turboprop designed to reconnect communities and unlock new opportunities:

  • 30% lower fuel & operating costs versus ageing regional jets
  • Triple-class cabin
  • Airbridge boarding
  • High-speed Wi-Fi
  • Up to $2M in extra profitability per aircraft per year

With its ATR HighLine cabin mockup, immersive 3D experiences, and innovative Mobility Monitor, ATR made a strong push and a compelling case for turboprops in the US, engaging in meaningful conversations with key decision-makers.

The message was clear: ATR wasn’t just present, it was prepared, positioned, and ready to deliver.
