Celebrating Regional Airlines: ATR at the ERA General Assembly
This week, ATR joined the ERA General Assembly in Estoril, Portugal, a key moment to engage with the European regional aviation community and spotlight the airlines that keep Europe connected.
From strategic discussions to shared ambitions, the event was a powerful reminder of the essential role regional airlines play in linking communities, businesses and people across the continent. Whether flying to remote islands, underserved regions or thin routes, these operators are the discreet backbone of European mobility.
As a longstanding sponsor of the ERA forums, ATR was proud to echo once again their voices, calling for proportionate and inclusive regulation that reflects the realities of regional operations.
But the ERA General Assembly is not only about shaping policy; it’s also about recognising those who make regional connectivity possible. Our SVP Commercial Alexis Vidal had the honour of presenting the 2025 ERA Awards, recognising the outstanding achievements of regional airlines:
- Spanish ATR operator Air Nostrum received the ERA Innovation Airline Award 2025
- Norra, our Finish customer, won ERA People and Culture Airline Award 2025
- SKY Express, who operate ATRs to connect remote regions of Greece, was awarded ERA Airline of the Year 2025 and ERA Regional Connectivity Airline Award 2025
- French airline Amelia was awarded ERA Sustainable Airline Award 2025
Clean Aviation was front and centre. ATR is not just committed to decarbonisation – we’re actively flying in the EU’s Clean Aviation programme. Our roadmap to hybrid-electric flight by 2030 is ambitious, tangible, and already underway.
Together with our partners, we continue to build bridges across Europe, and in Estoril, we proudly celebrated those who fly them.
